Purple Kanjivaram sarees bring a rare, regal note to Kanchipuram weaving — brinjal, wine and violet grounds that make gold zari look ancient and precious.
Kathiri-poo, the brinjal-flower purple, is a named and treasured shade in the Kanjivaram lexicon, historically associated with aristocratic wardrobes. Its blue-red depth intensifies gold thread the way twilight intensifies lamplight, and contrast borders in gold, pink or green sit dramatically against it. Because purple appears less often than the classic reds and greens, it distinguishes the wearer at crowded functions while remaining wholly traditional.
This boutique edit of around 50 drapes runs from about ₹3,250 to ₹6,550 — an approachable doorway into an uncommon shade. Prices shown are regular list prices — seasonal offers applied automatically at checkout often bring them lower.
